RIVER ADVENTURES:
A jet boat tour deep into the heart of the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve offers a true wilderness experience. Enjoy the scenery in Haines during the narrated drive to the preserve. Where the road ends, your adventure begins as you board a jet boat and cruise miles of scenic tributaries. Your boat is designed for this silt laden river and is the only access to a remote roadless portion of the preserve. The boats are uncovered so you can view and photograph the wildlife unhindered. Wild animals are abundant, however, are wild and we give no guarantee. Bald eagles are accustomed to our boats, so have your cameras ready for once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity. The scenery alone is worth the trip with cascading, hanging glaciers and surrounding soaring mountains. TAKSHANUK MOUNTAIN TRAIL:
Takshanuk Mountain Trail is a 2 1/2 hour, 5 mile round trip tour through some of the most pristine wilderness in Alaska. Upon arriving in Haines you will be greeted with a warm welcome from your personal guide. You will venture out Lutak Road alongside the Lynn Canal to Takshanuk Mountain. The real adventure begins when you reach the base of the mountain trail. Here you will be shown how to operate the Kawasaki Mule, described as a heavy duty golf cart, drives no faster than 3 miles an hour on the trail. With automatic transmissions & 4-wheel drive, the mules are a breeze to navigate through the lush forest trail. The mules are equipped with seat belts, easily acessible and have storage for oxygen tanks and wheelchairs. The smooth ride takes you 3 miles up and ends at an approximate 1,500-foot elevation. With several "lookouts" and points of interest along the way, this tour is exciting for all ages.

CHILKOOT LAKE TOURS:
Board an open-air pontoon boat for an enchanting tour of beautiful Chilkoot Lake, Here, you may have the opportunity to observe spawning sockeye salmon, fierce bald eagles and giant brown/grizzly bears as they feed upon the salmon, undisturbed by your presence. Mountain goats are often spotted grazing along cliffs. From the coastal estuary to the glacial inlet river, watch birds of all types. Virgin forests of spruce, hemlock, cottonwood and alder cload the lower mountains while snowcapped peaks & glaciers shine above. Be enthralled by legends of Alaskan heroes & villains, local history, native lore and tales of the wild.
